About This Series

“When a debt-ridden lawyer gets lost in the Pocono Mountains and rescues a fallen angel, she discovers she is trapped in a village of paranormals — and, apparently, a witch.”

“When a debt-ridden lawyer gets lost in the Pocono Mountains and rescues a fallen angel, she discovers she is trapped in a village of paranormals — and, apparently, a witch.”

Emma Hart is a practical, caffeine-dependent public defender who has never believed in magic — right up until she stumbles into Spellbound, a hidden community where supernaturals have been cursed to remain for centuries. Unable to leave and reluctantly discovering she is a witch, Emma accepts the town's need for a public defender and begins navigating a world of vampires, werewolves, dwarves, fairies, and one impossibly handsome fallen angel.

Emma is self-deprecating, principled, and genuinely funny. Her legal mind cuts through paranormal drama in ways the town's supernaturals rarely expect. She is neither reckless nor passive, and her warmth toward even the most difficult residents is the source of both her comedy and her heroism.

Across ten books, Emma grows from bewildered outsider into Spellbound's most effective (if chaotic) advocate and resident problem-solver, all while investigating murders, mastering reluctant witchcraft, and nursing a slow-burn crush on angel Daniel Starr. The overarching mystery of Spellbound's curse threads through every installment, building to a satisfying resolution.

Emma is a genuinely funny narrator whose legal instincts provide a fresh angle on every paranormal mystery.
The town of Spellbound is populated with memorable recurring characters who develop meaningfully across the series.
The balance of humor, mystery, and 'slow-romance' is calibrated perfectly for cozy fantasy readers.

Paranormal cozy mysteries with a 'found-family' community and a 'slow-romance' subplot that pays off.
Urban fantasy on the lighter end of the tone spectrum — more charm than menace.
Series where the world-building expands organically through the protagonist's genuine curiosity.

•The romantic subplot with Daniel moves slowly across all ten books — readers wanting early romantic resolution may be impatient.
•Some readers felt the editing tightened over the series; early books have occasional typos.
•The series is complete at ten books; the Spellbound Ever After continuation is separate.

⚖️The Verdict

A thoroughly charming cozy mystery series with a winning protagonist, a fully realized paranormal community, and exactly enough romantic tension to keep readers burning through all ten books.
