In The Brightest Shadow, the arrival of a prophesied Hero plunges the world into chaos. Tani, a warrior seeking to protect her tribe amidst an impending war with the monstrous mansthein, believes peace is possible, even as others embrace violent conquest and ancient legends.

Joined by an unlikely band – a killer/healer, a conflicted mansthein commander, a reformed thief, and an exiled strategist – Tani strives to avert disaster.
