The Daevabad Trilogy begins in 18th-century Cairo where Nahri, a con artist with healing gifts, accidentally summons Dara, a djinn warrior. Forced to flee, they journey to Daevabad, a city of brass steeped in magic and old resentments, where Nahri's presence threatens to ignite a centuries-old war.
In the second book, Daevabad struggles in the aftermath of a devastating battle. Nahri navigates the dangerous royal court, while Ali, having defied his father, is exiled and hunted. A new threat brews in the north, seeking to unleash fire upon Daevabad. In the final book, Daevabad has fallen after a brutal conquest. Former enemies unite to stabilize a warring people, while Nahri and Ali find themselves in Cairo making difficult choices about their past and future.
