Owailion wakes with no memory in a remote, dragon-guarded land and learns from the great dragon Mohan that he is the Awakened One — a Wise One, a powerful magician chosen by destiny to protect this sealed realm once the dragons enter their millennium-long hibernation. Gifted with the ability to conjure anything, speak across vast distances, and teleport, he must figure out what he is and what he must do before the dragons sleep.

The Wise Ones are diverse: Owailion the first awakened, Gailin the healer, Yeolani the reluctant life-giver, Tanzaa and Dayvian the lovers, Ingri the fire-bearer, and Jarek the blind boy given sight. Each is an ordinary person who must grow into extraordinary gifts and responsibilities.

Each book in the six-volume series follows a different Wise One — each with a unique magical gift and a different 'Seeking' or destiny to fulfil. The books share a world and mythology while telling largely standalone romantic-adjacent coming-of-age arcs, with an overarching sense of the realm's magical community growing over centuries.
