Alex Verus

Alex Verus is an urban fantasy series set in a hidden magical world in London. Alex is a diviner, a mage with the power to foresee possible futures, which he uses to his advantage. He runs a magic shop and tries to keep a low profile, but his abilities draw him into dangerous situations.

Early in the series, he's sought after to unlock a powerful relic. Alex often finds himself caught between warring factions within the magical community, including the Council of Mages and dark mages, as well as former mentors from his past. He investigates dark rituals, missing apprentices, and conspiracies that threaten both the magical and mundane worlds. Alex protects those around him, like his apprentice Luna and others, at risk of drawing the Council's ire and falling prey to forces seeking to control him.

He must use all his cunning and foresight to navigate alliances, uncover hidden agendas, and decide who he actually can trust. Though, Alex is always fighting against increasing odds and facing enemies looking to control and end his life.
