The Broken Earth

The Broken Earth is an epic fantasy trilogy set in the Stillness, a world ravaged by catastrophic events known as Fifth Seasons. The story begins with a devastating rift that spews ash, blotting out the sun and ushering in another period of destruction.

Book one centers on Essun, a woman with a secret power, as she searches for her kidnapped daughter amidst the chaos. Betrayal and festering wounds rise to the surface as the earth's power is wielded as a weapon.

As the series progresses, Essun seeks shelter and encounters Alabaster Tenring, the destroyer of the world, while her daughter, Nassun, grows in power. The fate of the Stillness hangs in the balance as Nassun's choices threaten to break the world. The final installment sees Essun and Nassun positioned to either save or destroy humanity as the Moon's return looms.
