Otherlife

Otherlife is a fantasy trilogy centered around Runner, an IT specialist trapped in a game with 499,999 other people. All have lost or scrambled memories, and death in the game means true brain death in reality. Runner is the only one who can log everyone out, but he's forgotten his password.

His only clue is a garbled message. To regain his memories and the password, Runner must level up by power-gaming. Along the way, he faces graphic violence and unconventional challenges, navigating an ever-changing game world. He encounters sentient programs and makes contact with the outside world, forcing him to balance his roles as a gamer, IT support, and officer.

Even after achieving apparent peace, Runner finds himself a target of various threats both inside and outside the game. The server is heading towards a full awakening, leading to questions about the future of the game world.
