A Shadow in Summer: Book One of The Long Price Quartet

A Shadow in Summer, the opening volume of a new epic fantasy quartet, introduces Saraykeht, a powerful city-state thriving on trade and the power of a bound spirit named Seedless. Seedless is controlled by the poet-sorcerer Heshai, who is essential to Saraykeht's continued prosperity and safety.

The Galtish Empire, a relentless force of destruction, now sees an opening to conquer Saraykeht. Their plan is to eliminate Heshai and by doing so, destabilize Seedless and in turn Saraykeht. A plot is hatched, full of intrigue and hidden agendas.
