The Chronicles of Amber

The Chronicles of Amber begins with Carl Corey waking up in a New York hospital with amnesia, eventually discovering he is actually Prince Corwin of Amber, the one true world of which Earth is merely a shadow. He is one of nine princes vying for the throne, challenged by his older brother Eric's armies.

As Corwin gathers his forces, a growing darkness threatens his plans, reaching into the heart of Amber itself, where the demonic forces of Chaos mass to annihilate the kingdom. Later, as ruler of Amber, Corwin faces treachery from his siblings and seeks guidance amidst sinister predictions.

Family blood spills upon the Pattern of Amber, throwing the kingdom into chaos. Led by Corwin, the princes and princesses seek answers about their missing father, Oberon, and the evil "black road".

The Chronicles of Amber soon shifts to Corwin's son Merlin, a sorcerer caught in a web of royal politics, magic, and deceit across the multiverse. Merlin faces enemies and must choose a side in a struggle between the powers of Order and Chaos that threatens all of shadow.
